Fehr potential new head of NHLPA

Scuttlebut has the NHLPA trying to woo Donald Fehr as their new head. Personally, I'm afraid of this notion. Looking at MLB, I fear he could push the NHL back into the pre-lockout mess with the haves and have nots. Strange that the players would look to a guy who got MLB to accept the toothless luxury cap after they voted to continue the current CBA for another year, now set to expire, I believe, after the 2011-2012 season.

I could live with that. As long as Jeremy Jacob reaches his resting place soon. Otherwise, it would be an unmitigated disaster.

Fehr has been the front runner for months now. The job is his if he wants it and has been for some time. Considering what he has said, I don't expect him to make the same moves he did with the MLBPA as he knows he is in a different position with the NHLPA.

Two different monsters, the MLB and NHL. I think Fehr and the players too know that what works in one doesnt neccisarily work for the other.
