Elbow pads...x:40 or RBK 6K?

Recommended Posts

coming back from 3 years away from the sport ive had to renew almost all of my gear.

the last piece i need is a set of elbow pads and im stuck between the Bauer x:40 pad and the Reebok 6K.

does anyone have any experience of the 2 pads?

Assuming they both fit you well, the old 6K (Not Kinetic) is pretty similar to the Jofa 9144's which have a massive following on here.

I tried on a bunch of elbow pads yesterday. The Reebok 6k's fit okay but they kind of stifle the movement of the arm, I can't straighten it out. The 4k's lacked padding and were overpriced IMO. The Easton ST's (I think the ST6) were really nice, no slippage, great strapping system, good padding, and I could straighten my arm completely while wearing them. Right now I have Bauer One55, which don't really lock into place as well, but at the time nothing else came close to fitting my giant forearms and tiny biceps (I have Popeye arms). FWIW I'm almost always a medium in all protective gear but my One55's are large. The Eastons that fit great were mediums.

Didn't try on the Vapors but I didn't like last year's model...can't remember why.
