Best skates

Recommended Posts

Assuming money is no object(ha) I am looking for junior hockey skates with these paremeters. Small skater, quick not powerful. good on edges. Tier II travel. Never really had a great skate. where would you start? Thanks for your help in advance!

I'll go ahead and get it out of the way. The best skate is the one that fits. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't matter what the skate is designed for. Past that everything can be customized to fit the needs of the skater. If he is "quick, not powerful" he will probably not benefit from super stiff skates, so I'd start in the mid-price point and try on several brands.

i'm not gonna lie those parameters are kinda vague. it sounds like you don't need a stiff skate, just ones with properly aligned holders and blades.

my recommendations would be quoting IniNew, get a skate that fits, have it fitted properly and the proper blade/holder work done.

but if you wanted an actual skate suggestion, i would say vapor x60's are nice.

Correct answer.

There is no "best", it's all personal preference and what fits you.
