Int. shaft with standard senior blade...

Recommended Posts

I bought a int. 67flex one95 shaft. It is a bit narrower than the senior but I heard that you have to use a senior blade anyway.

So, I had a one95 senior wood blade and managed to squeeze it in. But that took some power and, I had to rub some glue off the blade.

After squeezing it in, I tried pulling it back out but it would even move.

Of course I use heat guns and try to heat it as much as possible since it was pretty narrow.

What am i supposed to do? why do they make it so tight when they don't have int. blades ??

Clamp it down, heat all sides and yank it. If you don't have a clamp, wrap your leg around the stick with the blade side up and pull. It's always going to be more difficult removing a blade than inserting one.

But then is it right to use senior blades on int. shafts??? Thanks for the advice :)

Heat it up pretty good and use two people to pull on either end. Works like a charm.

i have an int. X60 ops, my blade cracked and i went out and bought a x60 senior comp. blade.

I only cut 1.5inchs above the tenon of the shaft and it fit.

if this helps you at all.

I have a se16 woodie in an intermediate tps r2 shaft. It depends on the blade/shaft combo. Some shafts are a little too tight for some wood blades. I got a wooden xxxx blade stuck in my SR dolomite shaft. I ended up breaking the shaft trying to knock the wooden tenon down the shaft.

I don't think anybody has ever made a standard hosel intermediate blade?

thanks guys, maybe the 'wood' blade is the problem.

i'll have to crank it out anyway, and i'll try to use the carbon blades from now on.

at least i knew now that the int. shafts were also meant to be used with the senior blades...

happened to me once, was a wood blade too. end up chopping the blade off, drilled few holes from where the blade was chopped off. after heating it up a bit, the bits just came out.

That's how I should have did mine, but I have no patience haha.

lol i don't really have patience either. got way too frustrated and actually thought about tying the blade to a tree and shaft to my car and start pulling but couldn't find any strong rope lol so just started chopping away haha.
