NYRalan 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 So I am in a weird situation right now. I'm using NBH Vapor xxxx skates right now, and I was using Vapor xxii before. Both skates are 10D. I never had arch pain with the 22's. Now, here’s when the weird part kicks in. I've been on the xxxx's for 3 months now. Used them about 40 times. I only had arch pain when I first got them because of the break in process I guess (yes, I had them heated too.) After about 2 weeks in them the pain had gotten away and they were fine. Now, I have terrible outer and inner arch pain in both skates and I have no idea why. I read in a couple of threads that different skate brands, are better for different arch’s. I took a picture of my feet, because I'm not really sure what arch’s I have. Getting a new pair of skates would not be a problem, only if it was needed. The thing that I don't understand is that I had no problem in the other skates and they are both in the vapor line. http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg14/Nyrfan30/IMG00066-20100817-1933.jpg
flyers10 57 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 Did you take some time off from the game recently? One of my pairs of skates is a bit narrow for me and if I don't play for 2-3 weeks and then use them I will get some arch pain. It goes away with at least weekly skating. That's probably the reason.
flyers10 57 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 See how they feel after using them more regularly. If still bothering you after frequent use you could try to have the arch area punched out a little bit.
mdamson 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2010 Wow, it looks like you have some really flat feet there. You might want to get some custom orthotics, or at least try the superfeet insoles for skates. You might also want to move this thread to the equipment forum. I am sure you would get much better recommendations there, because that is where most of the experts hang out.MIke D.See how they feel after using them more regularly. jazz4all 9 Report post Posted August 23, 2010 that's a real flat arch and flat feet i think... mine's a lil bit higher and can't fit into any vapor series...supreme series is much better but still giving pain...easton or reebok can be a good option for you.
