liner in X60

Recommended Posts

quick question for the owners of X60 re the black abrasion resistant liner that the skate has over the top 2 eyelets & the ankle guard: how is the durability of it? Especially in the high friction areas such as by the eyelets (where the tongue rubs against the liner) & on top of the ankle guard (there the socks rub against the liner)?

how does it compare to clarino?

Thanks!

I've had mine for a full season of rec league and I don't see much wear at all on that part of the liner. Keep in mind that I tie my skates pretty loose at the top and I flop my tongues, so there's not much chance for friction there. I've found the liner to be very comfortable, too.

My son has had issues with this very thing. The sharp edge of the tongue rubs against the liner were the two materials, black and red,are sewn together which ends up creating a hole on both sides of the boot. Bauer replace the first pair for us and the second pair started to do the same thing. We ended up replacing the tongues with the white felt supreme tongues and there is now no additional signs of wear. I do not believe this is a defect as much as an issue of my son having a very skinny angle allowing the tongue to ride deeper in the boot. I have sharpend several pairs of X60s and his are the only pair I have found to have this problem.
