Hopefully we can get it up before the secrhl season opener for a few skates. I have never assembled a rink before. Any helpful advice?

scorpionhockey55 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2010 It is a possibility for sure. So can you go on the rink whenever you want to?yep. pretty sure coach is gonna set up his office in the building, so as long as he is there we can just drop by and skate whenever. i guess the dance team and the cheerleaders are going to use the building as well but i dont think that will interfere (too much haha) with the rink. they will just use another part of the building. scorpionhockey55 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2010 wow , that is a really nice rink. where is it going,is it on a school site? is it going in a closed building or outside?its just a short drive off campus. probably about a mile or two. its going in a warehouse building. its kind of old but its in really good condition. its a temporary fix as the school is already talking about building a rink on campus. jjleip11 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2010 Good luck with the new rink...I played for Truman State University in MO when college roller hockey was first starting out (graduated in 1998!), and we were lucky enough to have the school install a sport-court "multi-purpose" room in the new rec center they built at the time. It wasn't a full-sized rink, but was good enough to practice! It was installed thanks to the roller hockey team lobbying for it, and was ours to play on whenever we wanted to for the first year, but afterwards a lot of other clubs on campus (for example, the ultimate frisbee club, what a joke!), were allowed to book their own times for the rink, meaning we got bumped. And we were nationally ranked when I was there! I hope that doesn't happen to you guys, guard that rink as if your life depends on it! Nothing like getting out of class and having your own rink to skate on.
