Toothless Grin 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2010 Hello One and All,The top layers of the left ankle "strap" (for a lack of a better description) on my right skate have torn and separated. However, it is still attached by the backing material. These are Graf Supra 707 TLI skates from around 2004/2005 and I have used them quite a lot. Have any of you encountered this type of failure? I preferred the material of my old 707, which was more leather-like. I have noticed that the Ultra G7 has gone back to the old type of material. Here is a picture of the failure:Thanks for any feedback on this issue.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted September 28, 2010 Did it happen gradually or all at once?
Toothless Grin 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2010 Did it happen gradually or all at once?I honestly don't know - I just noticed it the way it is now. The other three "straps" are fine and don't show any signs of failure.

Toothless Grin 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2010 It looks like a skate cut. If you had noticed it happening gradually, that would have ruled out a cut.I hadn't thought of a skate cut. I was concerned that this might be a design issue - my old 707's (which I used for 12 years) never failed like this. I really like the feel of the skate and have ordered Ultra G7's - I would hate to have them fail in the same way. (I hadn't noticed the failure when I ordered the new skates...)
