tmcgov@gmail.com 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 I'm a 40 year old C+ house league guy (5'9/160) that started playing 3 years ago. I have Graf 301 Supra skates and they seem to have served me well. I would like to try some other brands to see what is the best fit is for me since this is the only pair I've ever had. My concern is that I have a very narrow foot with a shallow heel instep depth and can never seem to get my skates tight enough the sweet spot. Any suggestions on a brand based on this ? I'm willing to spend $4-500.
chippa13 1844 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 Rather than recommend a brand, I recommend that you head into a good LHS (local hockey shop) and get yourself sized and fitted.
flyers10 57 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 Best to try on several models & sizes at your LHS to make sure you get best possible fit. That being said, the Bauer Vapors run narrower and shallower and go to Graf's website and you can get an idea of which models may be best to try on first. They make a couple that are shallow/narrow. GoBucky 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 Ive always found Eastons and Bauer Vapors to run on the narrow side.
aal 3 Report post Posted October 2, 2010 Ive always found Eastons and Bauer Vapors to run on the narrow side.I've got narrow / shallow feet, and have tried about all the skates out there. The ones that really work best for me are Graf 3 series in narrow. I think that is the most narrow / shallow skate made. If I had the money and access to a good shop, I'd think about custom vapors. I know ccm also makes some high end skates in narrow, but I've never tried these and would be concerned they'd still be too deep.
GoBucky 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2010 I have wide feet and even D width Bauer Vapors were way too narrow for me. I currently wear CCM Vectors in D width and they are plenty wide enough for me.Ive also tried various Eastons and never found ones that I could wear.
