Blade Dimpling

Recommended Posts

Blade-1.jpg

Was about to re-tape my stick and noticed I had tiny dents and dimples all over the front and back of the blade. Is it a normal wear thing, or is something happening to my blade? Or, has my stick had these dimples all along and I never noticed it. It's an Innnovative intermediate blade, but I don't know anything else about it.

The ice gets chippy pretty quickly. Anytime you drag your blade across the jagged ice surface you're bound to get pock marks. Tape will help keep them at bay, but they're usually minimal enough not to have any effect on stick/blade performance.

I tape from heel to toe and over the blade. I don't think it's problematic, I'm just curious about what it was. Thanks.

That is more likely where the resin didn't spread cleanly or popped from underneath during curing. Nothing to worry about.
