totalone vs S19

Recommended Posts

looking at both of these sticks for purchase, any opinions would be great. mostly interested in whether anyone experienced either shaft "twisting" during shots, or if the blade face opens when you put alot into the shot, and what the blades feel like when stickhandling because my only other experience with the stealth line was the original and that blade felt like it was made of sheet metal. also does each shaft flex fairly low on the shaft or did bauer include that weird X60 different shot different flex technology.

Both are the highest-end sticks possible and each manufacturer has aimed to prevent shaft/blade torquing during shots, so I wouldn't worry much about that.

We haven't heard back much on the puck feel of the TotalOne yet, but many people like the S19. The S17 puck feel was hated, but it has supposedly changed a bit, as well as making the blade tougher on the S19. It is still an Easton though, so expect that "pingy" feel that you experienced with your original Stealth is still there. That's pretty much how Eastons feel. Out of three vague kickpoints: Mid, low-mid, and low.... The TotalOne is a mid. The shaft is stiffer at the bottom, which makes it flex higher up between the hands for better loading. The S19 attempts to be a low kickpoint stick, but when they stiffened up the elliptical hosel area, it moved the kickpoint up. It is still not as high as the TotalOne though.

Can't say much about the TotalOne, but I have used the S19 and One95.

I haven't noticed any torquing with the S19. It shoots pretty true, although it does feel that the blade has more flex in it than some other sticks (take the blade and try to flex it with your hand), it doesn't have an effect on my shooting at all.

I personally quite like the feel of the S19. I wouldn't say it's better than the One95 was, but it's pretty good. I much prefer it to, say, my Warrior Dolomite Spyne.

The TotalOne will have a higher flex (mid) compared to the S19 (low-mid). I don't believe the TotalOne has the IntelliSense.

It's hard to say which one you'll like better. That might depend more on your technique and playing style. I like my S19 the best, but I play forward and tend to power through my shots and snap them off quickly so I find the lower kick-point sticks help me out in that regard.

I currently use an S19 and I also have an X:60 as my backup. Neither really torques. The X:60 might ever so slightly, but you don't notice it. The S19 definitely doesn't. The X:60 has a very stiff blade, great puck feel and incredible balance. The S19 has a slightly soft blade once it's been used a bit, but it doesn't affect shoot accuracy or velocity. It has good puck feel too and shoots rockets for me. I haven't tried a Total One yet, but the One95 was known for it's excellent feel and I'm sure they've kept that aspect if not improved it in the TO. Good luck with your decision. I don't think you can go too wrong with any of the three personally.
