Fandangles_hold the fan 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2010 Alright so, i just bought a new set of the dynasty II wheels from my LHS and put them on my skates. Played practice and 2 games with them and felt considerable slower, so i went ahead and tried to put new bearings on the wheels and had the same result. The bearings i had with the skates came on them, boss se's, and were fantastic until i switched, so i started looking at the chassis and there is a swirl pattern where the hub of the wheel is. Just for good measure, when i try to spin the wheel with my hand, the wheel barely makes 2 revolutions. What should i do, or better yet what is the problem?Any help is much appreciated. Fandangles_hold the fan 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2010 New chassis on your skates. Sounds like you have a bent chassis.Hmm, should I contact mission then? Because I've only had the skates for like 6 months. And now that you mention that I do feel much less stable as well.Yes I did put spacers.

And now that you mention that I do feel much less stable as well.Yes I did put spacers. If it is the chassis, you'll be able to spot it. Turn the skate sideways and look down the sidewalls of the chassis. You're looking for an indent, dimple, something that doesn't flow normally. You can also wet the skate wheels, place them on a paper towel or piece of paper and just drop the skates down on top. Pick them up after the water has a chance to hit the paper. Lift them up. If the chassis is bent bad enough, you should be able to see that one of the wheels is out of alignment with the others.Alright so, i just bought a new set of the dynasty II wheels from my LHS and put them on my skates. Probably not a bent chassis. My guess - the bearings aren't sitting right in the wheel hub. Are they mini core/688? I recently bought some mini Millenniums and had a problem like you on my Commanders. Didn't spin for crap. Sent them back. I have had issues with mini core wheels in the past. But I digress. If they are regular size 608s, look at the wheel with the bearings inside them. Hold them up to the light and see if the bearing is sticking out a bit. If it is, that could be your issue. If the bearing isn't sitting properly, the wheel won't spint. Try tapping them in better. Check your spacers too. Might not be the right ones.My magnesium chassis shows signs of the sprialing effect as well. Wheels are just in there tight - maybe a manufacturing issue. I don't really have a problem with mine though, but I did notice something similar to what you've seen.
Fandangles_hold the fan 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2010 Ok, so I just tried to hang tough and I guess it fixed itself? Some of the wheels still don't spin but I'm just gonna deal with it I guess.

Some of the wheels still don't spin but I'm just gonna deal with it I guess.I had this problem with some Rink Rats. It was incredibly hard to get the bearing seated properly in the wheel, but I could tell when I didn't seat it properly because it would either not spin and rub a bit like you mentioned or the bearing would feel like it was popping because the two bearings were at slightly different angles in the wheel. I just started using a rubber mallet to get the bearings into these wheels until they died.
