Re-baking skates

Recommended Posts

After almost a year on my Graf ultra's, I think I'd benefit from re-baking the left skate. The right fits good. My question is, as long as I'm re-baking the left, should I go ahead and do the right also, for some reason? Or, should I just do the left? Thanks.

You can try but i think there will be less affect on the boot if you have it almost a year. The skate is breaked in, but try it maybe it helps.

I'm by no means an expert but I concur with your post. IMO after a year, the foams will have been compressed and broken in to where they are going to be for your foot whether you rebake them or not I would think.

I went ahead and baked both skates. Neither I nor the shop I went to knew how long graf ultras are supposed to be in the oven, so we were cautious and I'm not sure the skates really got heated up enough. I'll see how they work when I skate in them in a couple of days.

By the way, with the graf ultra, is there any limit on how many times you can bake them? I think with most skates they say 2 times is about it.

A little late but a salesperson at Ultimate Skate in Anaheim(authorized Graf dealer with Graf trained salespeople) told me that because of Graf's construction they can be baked over and over an unlimited amount of time.
