One100 vs TotalOne

Recommended Posts

It's hard to get used to because when the length is different, that makes the lie different, which means your old posture won't be correct in pushing off the ice during shots or stickhandling.

Exactly. My old length was definitely wrong. I was getting a lot of wear on the heel and was also missing passes. Old stick was to the middle of my throat on skates. I think this stick uncut suits me more, I just need to get used to it.

if you were getting all heel wear because your stick length was incorrect, you'd need a shorter stick, not a longer one.

Then it must've been something else. Maybe I was leaning on the stick too much in turns. I just know for a fact my stick was too short. Every coach I've worked with over the past few weeks have too short of a stick for my size.

you said you switched curves too. did you get a lower lie than before? a lower lie curve would help too.

To see how the longer length is affecting your lie just put some fresh tape on it and go shoot a bunch of pucks and make passes to the boards. That way you'll see where it is wearing more accurately, not just from wear going around turns, etc.

Yes, I switched curves as well.

Earlier this year I was using an S17 Iginla which is a 5.5 lie. Then I switched to a One95 Pro Stock Mattias curve. Not sure what the lie on that stick was. Now it's the PM9 which is a 5 lie.

But it depends too [regarding heel wear]. It depends on how you like to stickhandle and shoot. For example, stall from the pens and majority of nhlers like to stickhandle with the heel portion of the blade since on heel wedges that curve space is flat. Their stance is low as well, their toe sticks up and there's a space between the bottom of the toe and the ice. This is all normal. This is the case for gentle heel pm9s. You could be a mid curve stickhandler and have the puck closer to your body, but it's all about how you like to play, how you posture yourself. So I mean heel wear, or mid/toe wear aren't that big a deal. I used to do a lot of high slappers and wore the mid to toe quite a bit. A teammate noticed the wear and suggested a different lie but I did a few tests and it was still the best lie for my skating posture shooting stance and stickhandling.

Just had my first game with the total one and all i can say is WOW, this stick has a very good feel to and i like the puck feel. Shooting with stick is what really impressed as my goalie came up to after the warm up and was like your shot is harder. I scored on my first shot in the game nice wrist shot blocker side. I have used the one95 and this stick is much more balanced and not blade heavy, the ease of flexing the stick really gets consistent shots and passes. If you are doubting the stick i say try it if you have the chance or dollars.

New here (Hello all) and dont want to start a new topic......

Putting personal preference aside, is the one100 really worth ~$70 more than the one80?

I read where someone compared the one100 to the one95. As a wayward one95 owner (who has gone through withdraws since breaking one earlier in the year) I have wanted another one but have missed out repeatedly. When the new supreme line came out I was excited (mid kick kind of guy myself) and I checked out all three (total, 100, and 80) yesterday.

Aside from the crap on the blade of the one80, are you basically paying for decreased weight in the one100? The one80 felt more on par with the one95 to me, though the one100 is alittle lighter. Would love opinions here. They both appear to have the tac spiral on the shaft. I think they are both not "TRUE" one pieces also. I'm a decent player, playmaker but I work on my shot alot, have a decent release. I'd love to buy a total one but I'm on a christmas budget and if I could get a less expensive stick plus additional stuff, I'd go for that. Just curious how much you are really sacrificing with the one80 as opposed to the two others, most specifically the one100.

And the total one retails for $230 in my neck of the woods. For that I could almost buy a one80 and the total one shaft.....

Any and all advice is appreciated. Been down the se16 road and currently have an s17. Want desperately to get back to Bauer.

I like the feel of the One100 much more than my One95. The spiral grip texture on the outer corners of the shaft feels really nice in hand too. Also, definitely notice the weight difference.

You're always going to pay more for the current year's equipment. Are ANY of these sticks worth the retail value?

What are your local shops selling the total one and one 100 for? I got my total one for 199.00

and they were selling the one100 for 159.00

That is beyond a good deal. I searched every single online retailer and 3 different local stores and every single was selling the One100 sticks for $189 USD...

I get that. No stick is worth what you end up paying. The only way to assess value is if your game improves or if the stick lasts as long as you expect it to.

I'm asking is if the one100 is worth $70 more than the one80. Let me rephrase.....are you paying for something other than saving a few grams?

You most assuredly are. I've tested out most of the newest vapor line of sticks, and though I'm not a big fan of the x:60, it definitely feels better than the x:40, which feels better than...etc. etc.

Being a mid-kick guy myself, I'd recommend looking for one95 shafts online (they can still be found, tapered or not). HM had a sale on, but now I think they only have p02 curves. I think they have the p106 in right.

Actually the 100 and the One95 weights about the same...+/- a couple grams.

the one80 will be blade heavy and won't have the same feel. havn't tried the one80, but the one75 i used had a bit of a fiberglass feel to it. still a great stick. wouldn't say you lose a ton of performance.
