V3T3R4N3DSN1P3R 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2010 I have used the search function to find this out but i couldn't. I was wondering what would perform more like a ops a standard or tapered shaft. Does it depend on what ops it is. Like a One95 ops would perform more like a standard shaft and a x60 ops would perform like a tapered shaft. If i like the feel of a one95 ops better should i go with a standard shaft? Im making the switch to 2 pieces because i want to use a wood blade. Any suggestions? Chadd 916 Report post Posted November 21, 2010 Depends on the type of taper in the shaft and OPS. The One95 OPS has a normal tapered shaft, while the X60 has a lowered kickpoint. If you like the One95 OPS, look for a tapered shaft that doesn't have a lowered kickpoint. The lowered kickpoint sticks actually seem to perform more like a standard shaft than a normal taper. You might want to check and see if there are any of the One95 tapered shafts still floating around. If not, the dolomite or even the battleaxe BX10 shaft like the one I've been demo-ing might be a good fit.
Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted November 21, 2010 As Chad infers, it all depends upon the OPS you're trying to emulate. That said (and someone can correct me if they feel differently), but the majority of OPS being offered today (well, high end ones anyway) have some sort of taper. Thus, one would assume, that the generic answer to your question would be tapered shaft.

ryanhockey21 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2010 I think your going to get good puck feel because you will be using wood blades, I always found it hard to find tapered wood blades but it might be easier now. It has been a while since I have looked for tapered wood blades.
