CCM Dominates the AHL

Yeah, Schremp it is. I remember skating against him when he played for the Capital District Selects. If it wasn't for his ass we would've smoked them.

Nice... I saw Ivanans play in Pensacola a bunch.  He wouldn't hit anybody and tried to play everybody with his stick when he was there.  He must've figured out that part of the North American game if he's sticking in the AHL with the lockout situation and all.

Focht has been the more physical player so far this year...although Ivanans was better this weekend. I might make a sign for the next game I go to:

Syracuse

got

Focht'd

Mind you if they are playing Cleveland that sign will suck...but you get the idea...

A lot of AHLers are already bitter about the arrangement.

But here's one big reason why the AHL did it:

Why? Because money talks, and loudly. THC will pay more than $2 million a year to the league. Also, teams save money on stick costs. Last season, the parent Buffalo Sabres spent around $86,000 on sticks in Rochester. This season, teams pay a one-time fee of $50,000 for 40 dozen sticks that come with a never-ending replacement guarantee.

"It gives them cost certainty," said Len Rhodes, vice president of marketing for THC. "But if our product doesn't perform, we'll stand behind them."

While some teams are concerned about stick breakage, the company and AHL are diligently monitoring performance and don't believe there are problems.
