Reebok 7k skates

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has used these skates?! I'm interested in trying them out. My current 9k's are beat so I'm looking for a "for the time being" skate until I can get something later. I'm looking more for personal experience or possibly word of mouth, the online reviews don't say much other than explain features. Thanks.

I have used them for over a year and a half, overall they are a little scuffed up which is expected, but I have not had any problems except for an eyelet popping out and one of the locks breaking off which are just minor things. Overall, they're a great skate for under $300, haven't had any problem with the pumps. The only thing I had to do was get the toe box punched, but I believe that is becuase I have a wide foot.

I think I may do this also... I'm buying 8k, and the fit was nice except for the toe box being a little tiny bit too tight. I considered wides but I'm not sure I need them to be wide anywhere but the toe box. I had asked to have the toe box on my Eastons punched, but they told me that because it's plastic, there was nothing they could do (hence looking for new skates).

Sorry to hijack your thread - but if it helps any, I'm planning to buy 8ks based on overall RBK reviews I've read, with the 8k just happening to fall in my price range (I'd buy 9k or 10k if I had the money, or 7k if my budget were smaller).

I was planning on going with either the 7k or 8k.. I was leaning more towards the 7k because it's offered in the white. I can get them for $195 which is very friendly to my bank account. Further down the road I may consider a higher end model, perhaps if the prices drop a little. I'll go with the 7k. I play anywhere between 2-6 times a week, I'm sure they'll be up to the task. I have my old 9k's, if the design is the same, I can always use my lace locks from the 9k's if the new ones fail. I appreciate the input guys.

how's the support compared to the older 7k's (2007 model)? I had them for a few months and hated that i had bought them. everything just seemed to lack support and fell apart very quickly (broken tendon guards, stiching).

Hockeyworld.com has 2009 8ks for 250 if that helps with the budget at all.
