Are these a good used buy?

Hi folks,

Found someone who's looking to sell his Bauer Supreme ONE 100s. Nice high end skate. They're virtually brand new (used for 4 games) and he did NOT bake them for fit.

My main concern is the fit - can I expect these skates to mold to MY foot after this guy has already used them? Can I bake them now that he's already used them?

Also, I'm a beginner to intermediate level player (I'm an OK skater) - Is this TOO MUCH of a pro skate for me?

I've never really dealt with a high end skate like the ONE 100s so I'm not sure what to do...

Depends on how much $ your paying to get them....how much of a gamble? You can rebake and mold to your foot....If the price is right, may be good deal?

The guy wants like $425 for them (I'm in Canada btw). These retail for 700$ up here...

If you have a foot that fits the skate, it sounds like a good deal. Remember that just because you bake it, doesn't mean it will fit you no matter what. The baking will make it fit a little better but won't magically fix major fit problems.

As for your questions:

If he did not bake them, they never molded to his foot. Even if he had, baking them a second time would not be a problem, unless his foot is much wider than yours. I don't believe in the "too much skate" philosophy, unless you can't get any forward flex when you walk/skate in them. It's Pretty easy to figure out the answer to both simply by trying them on. If they don't fit very well or you can't get any flex out of them, they aren't for you.

As for the value, that's really up to you. It's a better skate than anything you're going to find new at the $425 price point, but you won't have any warranty if there is a problem.
