Recommended Posts

alright boys i need some help. i'm about ready to put my fist through a wall. The toe caps on both of my 2010 Mission Assassin SEs are completely split from the rest of the boot. Now i need new skates. any suggestions? i was looking at Boss SEs but i'm wondering if i will just wind up with the same problem. please help. thanks.

a) I don't know what your use time or situation was/is, but you might consider contacting mission, and see if they can help you at all.

b) If you're worried about the same problem, why go back to mission, why not look at other brands?

it seems to be a problem with the soldiers and assassins. i haven't heard of any problems with the commanders or the boss but they are the same boot so i would assume the same problem would occur.

I had the same problem with the Soldiers SE and a buddy of mine had that issue with the boss SE. I'd recommend trying a pair of the new revision skates. Feel the same as Mission's to me but with a stiffer boot.

I have Mission Assassin SE's also. Purchased them last december and after playing for a good 7 or 8 months with them about 3 or 4 times a week they started coming off. Just to save some money i gorilla glued them right back to the boot. Its been a good 4 months now and i have no problems with them.

The splitting toe caps on the Missions (and Bauers) were a known issue by them last year which in my case, I received warranty replacements each time (and a fairly generous one on the Mission SEs, thanks again Bauer/Mission). They stated that they changed the bonding agent they used earlier in 2010 as it was the same agent that had been used on their ice line, and that they haven't seen any issues with the new bonding agent.

I have had no issues with the current skates over the last two months, which was the time period both of my other Mission/Bauer skates began showing signs. We will see over the long haul.

I have always been a Mission boy, but as I couldn't get the model I wanted over here in the UK so I went for a pair of Revisions as It was either that or some low end Bauer or CCMs pretty much.

I have to recommend them, and as I was in Missions before, I figured this advice may help. The Revisions were built off a Mission last too.

Break-in is a bit painful, even with a bake, but after a few weeks they're great. Nice solid boot, wheels are excellent and they're very comfy.

I got a good deal on them at the time - they were chucking in a free set of wheels as well as the price being a bit lower. Not sure what the deal is now.

Have a go if you fancy a change
