Helmets with the form foam fitting material inside....

Recommended Posts

Does any one have a helmet with the "form fitting foam" inside?

Two examples are the Mission Intake, easton s19, bauer 9500...etc.

How do you prevent the glue from the foam from peeling? falling off?

Does anyone know what i'm talking about?

Do you mean like the gel? I have a Bauer 5000 that's about 6 years old that is now missing two of the pads because the fell out. Not sure what you can really do other than reglue them in when they fall out.

Nice, is that stuff safe if it came into contact with my head?

According to their site it's non-toxic once dry:

"Once a product has cured, the solvents have dissipated. It is the solvents that are flammable/toxic. "

thanks

if use liquid nails make sure you don't get any on your hands. the stuff hurts like hell if you have to peel it off you skin.

I"ll keep that in mind

http://www.gorillaglue.com/this is what i used to fix my nbh 5500. scratch the epp foam up a little with a utility knife , and youll get a more durable repair.

Gorilla products are awesome, i have their tape. Its like duct tape on roids.

I've found that on my 4500 Gorilla glue works great to hold the foam in. I usually take out the foam, trim it so it doesn't hang out and then glue it back in. Clamp it if you can while it's drying or use pins to hold it to the underlying foam.
