Tonight I was actually asked to go by a 3 year veteran after our team put in 3 goals unanswered being down 2-0. I told him no and he accepted my answer. Later in the game he actually came up to me and told me that he was just trying to get momentum for his team. It would have been a mismatch for me anyways he had about 3 inches on me and at least 30 pounds.

Good for you for not taking away the momentum from your team. It might have been a mismatch but you could have won the fight ala Jordin Tootoo vs. Boris Valabik.

An old video I remember watching and realizing what fighting in the NHL was all about.

Watch how much of a cheap shot Ott is being, and then when he is asked to answer the bell, he won't even drop his gloves. I respect the ref's for not giving Hnidy a penalty... Or even blowing the whistle!

All in all, Ott's teammates had to suffer and sack up to answer his bell. Heck, even AVERY looked like a respectable player for a minute when he dropped the mitts. Ott's lucky to have tough guys on his team to back him up.. What a wuss

Pretty sure that's when Ott was playing with the broken finger. He couldn't fight. Infact, he actually did fight at one point and was fined for fighting with a weapon, similar to using someones helmet, because his hand was taped and had a brace on it.

Also, nevermind the completely late, blindside hit that started the Avery tilt. Good hit!

Similar thing happened to Souray in Montreal. He got into a fight with his wrist cast on and was thrown out of the game because of it...

last weekend our team was down by 2 opening draw me and another guy went, i was trying to get momentum for our team. Pretty even tilt but it worked. The boys came back and tied the game with 8 seconds left played the third full of energy and won in a SO. Nothing beats that feeling of getting the boys fired up and it paying off. Even better it was against the team we are battling with for home ice in the playoffs
