How are music files different from movies exactly?

Movies files are much much larger and take longer to DL if thats what your asking.

Most of the money from CD sales go to teh music company and not to the artists. Only the larger artists have the leverage to get deals that work in their favor. Most bands get their money from live shows but still have to pay for the production, roadies, etc...

I used to have over 5000 cds and I'm too lazy to rip them all. I've downloaded a few but only ones that I own or live tracks not available via retail.

Everybodys a newbie sometime, but usually around the 20 post mark you start picking up the basic mentality. Some though, like you, never pick it up and end up getting run off the forums for asking stupid questions.

Well you can't compare songs to movies unless you were just d/ling certain parts of movies at least in a quantitative sense.

if you get caught downloading a movie is there a bigger fine than if you get caught downloading just one song? i stopped downloading music buy i do admitt i used to download alot and i would too if my comp didnt get messed up but im just fine buying a cd

Not sure about the difference in fines, but I see more people getting snagged on getting movies than songs. That and I hear Kazaa's getting pinched and is bending over to give out peoples' names for d/ling movies.
