A few questions ( Bauer Flexlite 3.0 )

Recommended Posts

First of all, MSH has become my new favorite website after reading topics for a while and debating on weather to join, I made the plunge. Great Community from what I've read so far.

Okay, The reason for my topic here;

I have been skating on a brand new pair of Flexlite 3.0s. I had limited funds and after reading a bunch of reviews, The 3.0 Sounded like a good choice. I love the way they fit and look.

Now, My questions, Is it Possible to Heat mold them? I have heard different things from different places, Ice Warehouse says they are as does Hockey Monkey. But the Bauer Website says they aren't. Has anybody successfully thermomolded a pair of 3.0s?

Secondly; Is it possible to put a pair of LS2s on them? They are great skates, and I really don't want too buy a new pair just because my steel has been all used up.

Thanks for looking, IH43.

Where are you getting your info? I don't see anything on IW or the monkey that says the 3.0 is thermoformable.

The 3.0s are really soft, I don't think it would even do much if you were to bake them.

Its possible to put a pair of LS2s on the 3.0 but a pair of LS2s are $80 and around $30 for mounting. It just doesn't seem economically viable considering the 3.0s are only $150 and the 4.0s are $310ish & they come with LS2s. You're probably better off getting a new pair of 3.0 or even 4.0s when the steel runs out.
