GoBucky 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2011 Not sure if theres anyone on here who follows the AHL or the Rockford Icehogs, but here goes:Id been planning to attend an Admirals game for a while now and it just kind of happened that I had some free time this weekend, so I decided to drive down to Rockford for the game.I was very much impressed with the rink and with the overall experience of the game, considering its a minor league team. The crowd fans I encountered were very polite (keep in mind I was wear all Wisconsin gear) and cheered very loudly for the 'Hogs.I loved the, "hey guess what your goalie sucks" chant and just the overall fun atmosphere of the game. The Icehogs and their fans should be very proud of the team that they have. As a Badger hockey fan, I know a thing or 2 about great atmosphere for a hockey game and Rockford is a good one.

GoBucky 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2011 Haven't tried it yet, but thought about it, thanks for the info, sounds pretty good.Yeah, you should give the AHL a shot. I had a seat that was 4 rows up from the glass at center ice and my ticket cost me $25.Wait until playoffs, game 7 of the finals, the two teams play again, we'll see how "nice" they are then hahahaConsidering that they play in the same division and Milwaukee is in the lead and Rockford is dead last, I dont think I need to worry about that. Theyre great fans and Id honestly expect them to be a bit harsh towards me. You guys should come to a Badger hockey game in Madison sometime. If you show up wearing the wrong jersey and cheer for your team too loudly, the student section will point and you while chanting a certain swear word that starts with the letter, "a".The Rockford fans were a lot nicer to me than I expected. I even saw people at the game wearing Packers jerseys. Now THAT is asking for trouble!

And there's often a player or two I'd know from a few Hawks games, too.I wish I knew some place that sold their stuff; the pants look like the Hawks. I could use a pair. GoBucky 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2011 The whole uniform is based on the Hawks for the most part. Same while color with the black and red stripes. The only difference is they have the piggy instead of the indianhead.

GoBucky 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2011 I cant help you much there. All I can think is maybe go to the Metrocenter and see whats in their store. All that I see for sale online are jerseys and they arent inexpensive.
AaronYardley 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2011 Unfortunately the Hogs are about all we have going for us here in the thriving metropolis of Rockford haha. I will say it has been very cool watching guys like Big Buff, Versteeg, Hammer, Niemmi, Crawford, Brouwer, etc... come through. Raitis Ivanans still comes back and skates in Rockford in the summer at the local icehouse. It's a pretty good deal we have out here.

Honestly, if I werent such a loyal Wisconsin sports guy it would be very easy for me to attend a lot more Icehogs games.I'll definetly be back in the future when the Admirals play the Hogs though, good times.
