Bastards!

Well, I have been, for years now, religiously following the University of Michigan men's hockey team. I have been to a few games, including the 2003 Frozen Four game against Minnesota that they should have won (damn whistle happy ref blew the play dead just before the would-be winner was poked in). Unfortunately, though, I am forced to listen to the vast majority of their games via internet broadcast. Up until this year, it was simple: Log onto the team's site, click on the link for the broadcast, sit back and tape my sticks while I listened to the game. But now the audio is part of a subscription thing, and I really don't feel like paying money to LISTEN to the games. I have had some success by going onto their opponents' sites (which, I feel, is a violation of my dedication to the team ;) ) and seeing if I can't get their audio of the game.

But, apparently, there are a few other CCHA teams that have decided to charge for their services, so, right now, I am pretty much stuck watching the "GameTracker" on www.collegesports.com, which is just terrible. I used to actually get kind of excited when I would look at my schedule and see that I had one of those rare weeks where I didn't have any games or practices on a Friday or Saturday night (I never really thought I would get excited by the idea of not having hockey, but I did), so I could stay home and listen to the Wolverines. Now, however, I pretty much cringe at the thought of sitting infront of my computer screen waiting for any new text to pop-up (Thank God I am busy next Friday night).

Anybody here know of any other places I might be able to find the broadcasts? I've looked just about everywhere and still can't find anything, but I am hoping that some of you might know of a place that I haven't checked yet.

One thing that sucks for an English person who loves the QMJHL is the radio because it is in French. If there is an English team, such as Halifax, playing Rimouski, I love to listen to it.

Have you tried www.bugmenot.com? they also have a plugin for mozilla that turns the service into a right click while browsing.

...Yeah, I did that last season when they played on my birthday. It cost me $20, but I got to watch the game, so I figure it was worth it.
