Near fit to Vapor series?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I was looking at getting some new skates for a roller conversion. Im skating in Vapors now, but I think that the ankle needs to be tighter and lock better. I was wondering if there is a skate that has a similar forefoot and toe box to the Vapors, but a tighter heel lock? One of my friends suggested Easton s17s, or even the CCM Cls. The chart on inline warehouse suggests that the fit of the Eastons is what im looking for, but I wanted to get a second opinion. Hopefully some of the skatefitters or other knowledgable people here can help me out!

Thanks for the help!

I use the Easton S17s. Chose them precisely because of their great heel-lock. Also I've noticed the GRAFs F60s (G3 in Canada) have a similar heel fit, so thats another option.

Graf -35 is closer in fit to a Vapor: moderate width in the forefoot and a narrower heel.

I second that though I find that the (G/7)35 isn't as deep.

If the S-17 is a comperable fit to the Vapor line are any of the price point Eastons also similar. One of the kids on my son's squirt team is in need of a new pair of skates and he has a real narrow foot and the vapors have been his best bet so far unfortunately the LHS only carries higher end vapors in his size (6 1/2 or 7) if an s9 or maybe an s12 was a similar fit I might try to steer them that way.

s12's have a near identical fit to the s17's. but beware, although a bit tighter in the heel than vapors, they do run noticebly wider in the forefoot than vapors.
