LS2 steel size question

Recommended Posts

Last night I broke one of the steels on my x:60s and the thought had crossed my mind to use the steels from my old xxxs. I was looking at them and the skates are the same size (6.5), but the steels on my x:60s are 254 and my xxxs are 263. What's the deal with the length difference when they are the same size skates?

We were just talking about this in another thread. Are your skates EE width. Bauer used to put one size larger holders on EE width skates if they were 1/2 sizes like 6.5, 7.5, etc. They seemed to have stopped doing this on the newer models. I think it started with the One95. I think it is a mistake. Almost all Bauer skates look like they could go one holder size up. Especially the half sizes. It's not just Bauer either. MLX seems to be the only company that is really maximizing the holder length.

sorry for hijacking .....on the one100LE they are using the 2.1 power steel ...which seems to be slightly longer than the regular 2.1

...is that the only difference or is the quality of the steel better ??? ...as we have seen some regular ( vapor xxxx) steel with pitting issues the past weeks ( little junks of steel coming off )

Bauer still does this on the current skates.

Yeah sorry I meant to put that both skates are Ds because I did notice on the conversion chart that EEs use a longer steel, I have a fairly narrow foot so I'd never be able to fit in EEs
