I just found a pair of new Pro Tacks for sale for around $200. I had a pair of 692's a long time ago that I loved but recently switched to the U+. Does anyone think that 200 bucks for these is a bad deal? Thanks.

I think that technology has come along way, but that being said the pro tacks are nice skates that will last along time and if the fit is right for you I would say go for it.

I was skating in 652s up until 2009 when I broke both Tuuks taking shots. The cost of replacing the Tuuks and blades could not be justified on those broke down skates. I was desperate to find an "old school" model to pick up and searched all over for a bit. I finally broke down and got into a pair of Vapor XXIIs and I could not imagine going back to those bricks of the day.

But, if you like the feel of the older skates, go for it.

I'd buy a new pair for that price in a heartbeat... I love the Tack fit.

I used those skates for the last 4 yrs, they're slowly falling apart using 4 times a week. If I could buy them brand new @ $200.00 I'd buy them in a heartbeat!

No sir - not a bad deal at all (If you got the one with "pro armor" and skate locks especially). GREAT skate with lots of loyal followers.

Thanks for the input fellas, I just ordered them. I needed that little extra push so I could justify buying them :-)
