Easton Heel Lifts

Recommended Posts

I've used my friends S11 skates the last two games, and I find that when skating my feet get pushed to the front a tiny bit. It bothers me more on my bigger foot.

Would removing the heel lifts help at all?

Will my foot sit deeper in the boot allowing me a wee bit more room length wise?

What is the purpose of the lifts?

I have been skating with the top eyelet undone due to the high cut of the boot.

removing the lifts won't help because the skates probably don't fit you; your heel's not locked in.

the heel lifts, unless they're actually inside the boot, won't affect volume of the skate or how deep your foot will sit.

the lifts themselves are for a forward pitch in the skate, to give you a more aggressive forward lean.

Heel locking in is for the heel lifting up at the end of your stride, not to literally lock it into place so it doesn't slide forward.

The answer to this is simple - you just have skates that don't fit you, the heel lifts aren't the problem.

My heels are locked in pretty good thanks to the thick ankle padding. Feels like a suction cup. The heel lifts are under the heel of the footbed. Will removing these internal lifts do anything in terms of fit? I found the 7.5R S17's too roomy for me. I wish I could get a 7.25R. Don't have the cash for custom's.
