I think I prefer the 9144 over the 9177 Jofa Eblow pad

Recommended Posts

I am new here but I thought I would offer my opinion on my elbow pad purchase...

I have been using the Jofa 9144 with separate ITECH wrist guards until I picked up a new pair of size 6 Jofa 9177 Pro.

I must say that although I like the additional protection of the Jofa 9177, I prefer the 9144 with the wrist guard combo. I think if I move up to a taller glove, the 9177 would create a longer pad overlap.

Have any of you experienced this?

Thanks

JP

I always considered the 9177 very long and the extra piece on the wrist area always irritated me and got caught on the inside lips of my glove cuffs. The 44's worked out perfect for me.

I found that moving to a glove with a longer cuff makes up the difference in length without sacrificing mobility especially with a flares cuff, you might have some issues if you prefer a hossa style cuff. Has anyone found a wrist guard that can be sewn on similar to what ovechkin has?

Those are Jofa Floating Slash Guards. I have them on my Jofa 9144 Pro elbow pads, and they are great protection. You don't even notice them there.
