Difference between reebok 9k or 11k shoulder pads?

Recommended Posts

I have 11k shoulder pads, to my knowledge, there's the zigtech fabric(just a selling mark imo), a little denser foams, and maybe a few other things. Haven't seen the 9k so.

in my opinion, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and shin guards are things that you dont need to spend a lot of money on as long as they fit well

You need protection, not just fit, and the amount of protection depends on the amount of impact they'll have to sustain. That impact includes hitting the ice, and varies with the weight of the player, and his height, which affects the distance fallen.

Shoulders, kinda. Elbows, maybe. But shins are something you should invest in, especially if the guys you're playing with know how to shoot the puck.

I tried on the 11k shoulders a month or so ago. Overall good, low profile fit with solid protection throughout. Fit nice and tight to my chest and shoulders so they didn't seem as bulky as some other shoulders can be. Good range of motion without and excessive resistance. I personally wouldn't spend any extra money on the 11k vs 9k because I don't buy into the ZigTech liner.
