Traveling Men's League Team

Recommended Posts

Recently, a group of hockey players at the college I attend (along with some recent graduates) have been kicking around the idea of starting a men's league team. A few of the players, including myself, had played club hockey there, but found it too expensive or time consuming. What we are trying to figure out is how one would establish a men's league team for a local league, but still be able to legally play exhibition games against teams from men's leagues in other towns, or even college club teams. We're content with the 20 games we could get playing men's league alone, but thought it would be nice to play a few different teams outside of the league one or two weekends a year. If anyone has any experience with a project of this sort, please reply or shoot me a pm.

Also, for the men's league team organizers, we are seeking out a sponsor for jerseys. While bars, liquor stores, and breweries are usually good prospects, I am concerned that these businesses would not be able to or would avoid sponsoring a team with a handful of players under 21. While I have read many of the topics a search yields, I have not found anything on this particular scenario.

Thanks for any insight you might have

Just start talking to local organizations members of ur team might be involved in. Even if they agree to pay for a logo and ten bucks a person, take it and apply their logo to sleeve or somethin. Around my leagues, yes most are bars as the sponsor, but there is a cleaning company, lhs sponsors some teams, etc. As for issues playing friendly games against non league or even non adult opponents? Look and act as legitimately as possible. Same uniforms, try to have same colors, don't get into fights and most importantly be good. There is a team that I know of that will plays a team yearly during one of their practices to try and shoe the kids how to be better. Most of the guys on this can go play semi pro.
