Bauer stick length

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, looking to get a Totalone stick from the states and have a quick question.

I am fairly short and am looking for a stick to be about 80-85flex.

I was planning to get a 77 flex and cut it down 4 inches, but according to Bauer it will end up being 92 flex. Too stiff.

With Easton sticks for example, if i get a 75 flex stick and cut 2-3 inches off, it will still be 75 flex according to the marking on the end of the stick.

My question is does Bauer have the same markings and allow me to cut off 2-3 inches changing the flex?

I need the shaft to be 56" and I beleive they come at 60".

I'm in Australia and my LHS does not have any Bauer sticks.

Easton is full of it if they think they can keep flex cutting a stick. Its the fulcrum points that will make the stick stiffer. There is no way around it unless only the midpoint is flexing.

Have you ever considered that the 75 flex is really a 65 or so at full length? I am pretty sure that Eastons flex at full length are about 10 pts whipper. the markings even show that it does indeed get stiffer the lower you cut it.

That's my question. Does Bauer do the same?

If not, I might have to buy an intermediate!

The Bauer sticks that I have had do not do this. I haven't used a T1, but the ones I had were at their listed flex when uncut. Cutting them would make them stiffer than the flex listed on the front of the stick.

To back up the Easton point, whenever I had a stick listed as an 85 flex, the guide on the back would say it is actually an 80 flex when uncut.

bauer offers their top end sticks in an intermediate 75 flex option at 57". cutting it down 1" should get you to your target flex range. they're only available in grip though...at least off the shelf that is.

Yeah I just saw that on HM and IW, I'm gonna do that! Is there much difference between snr and int? Besides the thickness of the shaft, are the blades the same length?

Thanks for all your help guys. Now for the dreaded wait of ordering off HM :P (IW are out of stock so I miss out on the 10% discount)

Its rated at a 75 which would mean its rated at its full length at 75. Yeah Eastons are whippyering or softer
