opinions on red star scorpions?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

New to the forums here and nothing came up in the search. I plan on using them indoors on a sport court. How are they generally? Grip/durability/construction/longevity? Thanks in advance.

Pass on them. Get something from Labeda, Rink Rat, or Revision. They all make price point wheels that will be better than the Red Stars (if you are looking for cheaper wheels).

Thanks for the quick reply. How are the revision variants? I have an old pair of mission skates w/ the hi-lo configuration so I'll probably be getting four 72/80mm. Should I get 72A or 74A? I'll be playing indoors on a sport court. Thanks again.

5'11 and 160lbs. I tend to do a lot of hard stops and need to be able to stop instantly without sliding. I mostly play offense. Leaning towards 74A... Thanks for your help.

Yes, start with using an all Gold (74a) setup and go from there. If you need more speed put two Bronze (76a) wheels in the middle, or put two Platinum (72a) wheels in the front and rear position for more grip. Take a look at the Revision Wheel Matrix (link) for an overview.

Thanks for the link. I recently came upon some Amazon credit and used it to purchase some rink rat hornet splits (I couldn't find any revisions on amazon). Hopefully the rink rats will satisfy my needs. Thanks again!

Yes the Rink Rat splits should do you quite well, they are the top-of-the-line sportcourt wheels. Quite similar to the Labeda Addictions and the Revision Variants.

The Addictions are similar to the Splits, Variants are fundamentally different (soft outer, hard inner vs. hard outer, soft inner)...
