Dropping a Hello

Hey,

Dunno if this is vastly inappropriate, but either way I figure I should say hi and introduce myself.

Name's Kenny. I played roller hockey when I was a kid and then stopped because the league folded (in Napa Valley, didn't stand much of a chance). The closest Ice Hockey rink was 45 minutes away, so my parents refused to drive that far. Growing up in San Jose, I was always addicted to hockey, so I always wanted to play but never got the chance.

Now, at 21 and in my last year of college, I finally get to play ice hockey like I wanted to. I've got about, say, six or seven games under my belt (the first time skating since I was 13 was me hopping off the bench for my first shift) and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Most of my hockey education (as far as playing) comes from either whatever my friends/people on the bench have told me mid-game, or something from a book, so I'm always looking to learn more. Simple things like unspoken etiquette type stuff to the proper way to take a slapper. Even stuff like how various people tape their stick; I like knowing all the various ways to do everything just so I can figure out which works best for me. As I was doing random research on, say, equipment or tips on skating, I was constantly brought back to this forum so I figured I should join. I can't guarantee I'll be as talkative as I used to be back when I was a forum junkie (mostly Counter-Strike and photography/graphic design forums) but all the same.

Anyway, just saying hey and thanks!
