Blackstone Tri-Lie Holder Question

I need some help - Would someone with a Blackstone Tri-Lie skate holder be willing to measure the length of the "clamp bars" for me? I am trying to decide between purchasing the Youth holder vs. the Adult holder and this info would be extremely helpful.

I can measure for you tomorrow. But, go with the adult, you will not need a youth, except perhaps if you have the mini stones on the mini sharpeners. If you have a full size machine, the adult works with everything.

Thanks Jimmy!!! I am looking at buying the X02 sharpener. I wear an adult Bauer 8.5 skate, but I have a 4 year old son who wears a youth size 9 skate at the moment. The runners on my son's skates are about 7" long.

When all is said and done, I am trying to figure out if the adult holder will work with my son's skates. If not, would I be compromising anything by useing the youth holder for my adult skates?

you might have to ask someone who has a X series. I do not. My stones are bigger and the tri lie works on all size skates fine, except when the size of the wheel is real small. This may be an issue for you because the X stones are very small to start.

I'm not sure if Steve sells them separate (would imagine he would) but maybe buy a child's plate and swap them out as needed. You'll need a bubble level to make sure it is level when mounted.

Yes.

In holder? No. I just measured my nephew's 6.5" runners (size Y7) and I could not sharpen them on my X-02.

Damn... Would you say that the issue is with the adult holder, or with the X02? If the issue is with the holder, do you have any experience with the youth holder and adult skates?
