Itech 920 combo deluxe face mask

Recommended Posts

I need a new face mask and i have always wanted to try a full clear face mask but im a heavy sweater. I have the feeling they may not work for me because in my hockey arena the outside tempeture is the same as the inside so about 10 degresses winter in michigan. The arena is only open in the winter i think i would fog it up beccause the warm body tempatrue and the cold air would cause it to fog but i would like other opoinions, it has anit-fog but i dont no if it would work that good

I was looking at other post and some one says that using anti-fog solution before every ice time will stop foging is this true. Cant you use anti fog solution on a full visor.

I have yet to see a full shield that doesn't fog up.

well chad, there are a lot that do fog up... a new full shield however, should have limited fogging. as i posted in a similar topic earlier today... follow the manufacturers instructions for care and usage. you should be ok. otherwise, using anti fog spray does help.

I believe you but every kid and adult I've seen while reffing have had fogging problems. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't follow directions but it's just an observation.

Watching the NCAA playoffs on TV, I noticed that all the players not wearing cages seem to be wearing Itech Concept full visors, and theirs aren't fogging up. So there must be a solution -- I've heard it's dish detergent (and we've discussed that here before).

Everybody always seems to have fogging problems. You basically have to use the solution (follow the directions) or it fogs up. I've never heard of dish soap before, maybe it'll work?

Last time I watched a college game, most were wearing cages and the ones that didn't had at least some issues. Everyone is different, no one solutions works for everyone.

What is better the itech 920 or itech concept II are there warranties on these incase i were it and fogs up and i dont like it. A little fogging will not bother me but if it fogs up so much i cant see then i will not use it but i would like to try one but are there warranties. At 1800faceoff.com there is anti fog solution wood that help if it did a little.

I have been wearing a shield for years now, and the fogging issue has caused me to try going back to a cage. I use an Oakley straight and spray it religiously with AFR before and after each use. It still fogs on me. Usually the fogging occurs on the bench, and when I hit the hit it disappears. When sweat drips on the visor and I have to wipe it, then that visor fogs like crazy.

I've used the Concept II and the FX50, and the only full mask I've ever used that didn't fog has been a wire cage. I'm also a heavy sweater whose a "read the instructions" kind of guy and pretty careful with my gear. I also deal with many high school and younger players, and like Chadd, have yet to see a hybrid or full plastic shield that didn't fog up. Also, the Oakley spray is really the best of all the things I've ever tried. Shampoo and dish detergent are a very distant second.

I've actually seen the same when I ref, but they sure don't use anti fog spray.

I don't know about the 920 combo, but I know that the concept II is a solid visor. I was thinking of getting one soon, so if you do, tell me how it is..
