Curve Identification

Recommended Posts

Help me identify this curve. It is a Powertrek MC. I want to find a replacement for it in a higher end blade model. As far as I can tell, it is a 3/8" mid-heel with about a 5.5 lie.

1. Is that what it is?

2. Does another company make a lighter, STANDARD blade (high end model) in those same dimensions or close to it? A 5 lie doesn't quite do it for me and a 6 would be preferred.

The closest would probably be something like a Sher-wood Bouchard, but the Bauer Stamkos, Easton Cammalleri, Warrior Burrows and RBK Duchene are all quite similar, but with 5 lies. I believe the Powertek MC is based on the Modano curve, which became the Forsberg, then Zetterberg, then Cammalleri, however it is clearly more of a heel curve then a mid-heel and the lie is different. I don't know why companies don't just clone popular patterns. It would help their sales IMO.

+1 for Sherwood Bouchard, probably the closest you'll get. It also looks basically identical to an Easton Drury/Parise (which most companies have a clone of), but it's a lot less open. If you don't want a Sherwood and can deal with a more open face, then a Drury or Drury clone would be another option.
