Getting Tacki-Mac rubber grips off a stick?

I've got a Tacki-Mac rubber grip on my Sher-Wood 5030 stick, well anyways I broke my 5030 but I want to re-use the Tacki-Mac grip on another stick. How can I get them off? I've tried everything from letting them soak under very hot water and trying to pry them off but nothing works. They're really great and I would love to re-use it, any tips on getting it off?

those things are on there pretty good.

i didn't like it though and tried to take it off...i had to cut it with a razor. and obviously that's not the best choice if you want to reuse it.

just buy another one i guess...it's like $5
