CCM U+ CL outsole-possible issue

Recommended Posts

I just got my custom CCM U+ CL delivered and they fit great (as expected). I ordered them with the holders unmounted so I could install LS2 holders on them. As I was inspecting the boot, I noticed that the bottom area (outsole) that is covered by the front part of the holder was covered by a pretty soft layer of material. Looking at my old skates I noticed that the entire part of the outsole-looking inside the boot- is solid (at the very least harder than what is on the CL’s). Has anyone noticed this on their skates? Is this going to be an issue as the skates break in (I’d hate to think that over time I would be feeling the front of my foot sink in to the front of the holder.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the replies.

JR-I didn't really explain it clearly. The area I am refering to is the forefoot part of the skate that the front (tower?) of the holder covers once attached. I know since it is normally covered by the holder it wouldn't need the carbon outsole in that area, but the boot side of the covering is normally a sturdy/hard material.
