Bauer 5100 vs. 7500 Helmet+Cage Combo

I am in the market for a new helmet (currently have a CCM HT2 w/ cage that is in poor condition), and I was thinking about the Bauer 5100. I see that the 7500 is only $10 more. Is there a big difference between the two helmets? I like these helmets because they feature toolless adjustment, and the padding looks more comfortable than that 4500. I play inline w/o hitting.

Also, I understand that I should try on helmets in person to see which is the most comfortable, but there are cheaper options than the helmets I mentioned. Are all cages compatable with all helmets as long as they are both the same size? I see on some sites that some of the Easton helmets are on sale. Thanks.

More or less. You may have some issues between manufacturers, but they're all supposed to be interchangeable.

The 5100 is a bit wider and much deeper than the 7500.

The 5100 has VN foams and a HXSORB lining...the 7500 has EPP and memory foams for comfort. That's really the biggest difference, so it's a matter of what you prefer. If only they made one with VN and memory foams like my NME7 goalie mask...
