#eight 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 This summer I will be travelling to LA to compete in AAU. Then, off to SJ to compete in NARCh! I am looking forward to a great trip. I am not from USA! Any recommendations for a keen hockey player during my stay there? I will be there for roughly 4 weeks in total, with allot of free time. Which is the best beach to skate on or play some hockey on the beach? Hockey Monkey & Hooters.. i will be there. Anything else? Help me make this the best hockey trip ever! Thanks Players :)

Thepandamancan 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 I play at the Burbank Roller Hockey rink (Burbankrollerhockey.com). We have pickups every Friday night. There's also Rose Bowl hockey out in Pasadena. They play in Lot K every Wednesday night from 5:30 to when the sun goes down. They have a group on facebook if you wanna track them down. Both groups have some pretty good guys. The Pasadena game is probably a lot more fun and free flowing...it's played a lot like a pond hockey/shinny game.
x-axis 44 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 are you driving from la to sj?if so, I recommend driving up the 101 highway along the coast.enjoy the california weather. play outdoor hockey near the beaches there and hang out at the beach cities and bars like in santa barbara and pismo. You can also camp out and 4wd at Oceano Beach. Then I'd hit the indoor rink in Santa Maria, then stop by Inline/Icewarehouse in San Luis Obispo, and then hit all the downtown spots in San Luis. After that you can head to Rollin Ice in San Jose for Narch but there are lots of other things to see and do along the way.I used to make this trip a lot because I go to school in La and my family lives near SJ now. It's about 6.5 hours of driving time, not including any stops.
sharks25 9 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 You'll be passing right by my house! :) There are many great restaurants in the area, and High-5 in silvercreek is also very good! It's in south san Jose, so your about 15 minutes from downtown san Jose. I live 15 miles south, in Morgan Hill. There are a couple good restaurants in my town, if you shoot me a pm I can list them for you. I'm sure you'll have a great time!
