we465 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 Hey guys, I have to decide between buying a apx p14, 67flex or a oshie pro stock, 95flex, curve is like p92 with more toe. Im 5 7". I love the flex on the apx because im not extremely strong but i love the curve on the oshie pro stock but the flex is stiff for me right now. So what do you guys think? RussianDangler15 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 That's a pretty large jump in flex, I wouldn't imagine that the curve is worth the difference. Also If you're going to be using the Apx in intermediate it seems likely you'll have to cut down the Oshie prostock a considerable amount, increasing the flex even further. In your position I'd go for the Apx.
NazHockey94 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 Apx for sure. 95 flex will feel like a 2x4. Also, from what I remember oshie uses a longer stick (longer than your avg. Forward). Isn't his curve close to the p08 anyway? If so, order a apx in a lower flex.

Scopes 4 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 I think you should go with the APX, you want to actually be able to use the flex of your stick not have club in your hands (like mentioned above). From my experience, adjusting to a curve isn't that difficult; I wouldn't say you should continually try different ones, but try it, and once you start using it make it the only stick you use and a few ice times in you should have it dialed. SolarWind 23 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 for what it's worth I switched from P92, and P14 is an awesome curve for toe drags (more toe then P92 which is a mid curve), stikhandling (longer flatter work area) and shooting (it's a tad less open)...I'd go agains the grain and suggest getting 77 flex TO P14 vs APX due to it's crappy blade.95 flex would obviously be too high
tml67 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 Is the blade on the APX that crappy? I'm considering on buying one to try out.
TeamHonda401 54 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 In my experience the APX blade isn't that bad. On hard passes the blade will open up on you a little, but if you cradle it the blade isn't too bad in that area. From a shooting standpoint, the APX blade is one of the best ones out there imo. Even when leaning on it quite a bit during a shot, the blade still remains very true. From a durability standpoint, I've had mine for about two months, and the blade is still in the same shape as when I bought it.
bdh13 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 Oshie pro stock is an Ovechkin clone. There are definitely p08 APX in a 77 flex available at online stores.
