Miken MV3 pro

Recommended Posts

Recently came accross some of these at my LHS on clearance for 99 bones. Was wondering if anyone had some feedback on this particular twig, see a lot of good feedback on their current models, and negetive on early models, but nothing on this particular model (unless its in the earliest model catagory). is it worth the moderate 99 dollar risk?

yeah, i found a lot of info in the forums about the MV-5. the 3pro feels nice in my hands, but what scared me was a lot of people were talking about an early miken stick which wasnt very quality, and i was trying to determine if this is the one, as they dont really list a name that i could find.

MV3 Is a Good stick at that price. The one that has always been talked about negatively was the MV1 as that was the first kick at the can for Miken Hockey

purchased a p12 75 flex today, thinking that cutting it 3 inches would be roughly 87 flex. unfortunately i didnt get to use it much in my game tonight as i got switched to D last minute so went with my longer 11k, however playing with it a bit during warmups, it seems like the flex is more around an 80, its whippier than i thought itd be. I do like the whip on my shot but i feel like my passing might suffer a little, but we will see if i can get used to it a little more here this weekend. Preliminarily, i feel like Mikens new flex profiles at 70 80 90 100 might be more suited for my needs, but it will be a while before i put money down on another stick. Do Razors also run pretty whippy? id like to continue to delve into the Miken line, as im trying to buy more USA made products and a couple sticks a year could be a very nice way to go.

Incidentally, a really good buddy of mine just sent me a mv3 pro... Very light weight, feels very balanced even though I cut my sticks down a fair bit.plain and simple graphics, nothing to flashy. I'll give it a shot in the next week or so...

The only thing that doesn't feel on point is the flex. It's otherwise a great feeling stick

I bought a Matt Hendricks pro stock MV-3 Pro from the Caps equipment sale last year. I loved the feel and compared to my pro-stock 10k's it felt like it had more pop too. I broke it after about two weeks of use. I some how took a puck off of it just below my top hand which cracked it. I went to make a pass and it folded over. I loved the stick espeacially for the price. I also agree the flex felt stiffer than advertised (85), but after a couple games I got used to the flex.

Keep in mind this was a pro stock version.

I had a MV3 that our rep gave me to try out. I was overall pretty happy with it. It has great feel and pretty good pop but the durability was slightly below average. At $99 though it is a great deal. I would buy 2 at that price.
