Furyan 1 Report post Posted June 5, 2012 Hi everyone! My questions are about new Graf G75 LiteAll that i can find - they changed the liner, and (as i can see on the pict) they have changed lean - it is not so aggressive as "old" G75, looks like supreme leanAnd that is all?!What is about the weght? And why did they change the lean? Pure Hockey 4 Report post Posted June 5, 2012 The lean was changed mainly to be a little more on par with competitors, while retaining what they are known for, the aggressive lean. Besides other small changes, like the liner, that was pretty much it. The decision to redesign was based heavily on a branding theory. They went to that blue accent, and having mutliple accent colors, on different skates, was creating production issues. (Ending with finished boots lying around because they were waiting for the right color outsoles that had run out) Graf is known for that neon yellow accent, and they decidied to bring that back, across the bored. Like many other companies, Easton/Bauer/Reebok, they wanted people to know what their products were at first glance. bringing back the yellow that everyone immediately associates with Graf does that. The thing I like about them is the way they designed the composite quarter, Personally, I like an extremely stiff skate laterally, but with more flex forward in stride. I find myself leaving off the top eyelet on all my skates when lacing them. Graf solved this by layering the composite, so it has a flex point that is a bit softer, to allow for forward flex, but retains that lateral stiffness and support. Polarlight 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2012 Has the forward lean really been changed on the G75 Lite vs. last year's G75?Pictures make it appear the new G75 Lite lean is a bit less forward, yet it's difficult to determine from the pictures. Have Graf retailers (ex. Pure Hockey) been told this is true? Thanks.
jsykes 35 Report post Posted June 6, 2012 I was not told anything by my rep. I was told the boots were identical, just the lining and color changes.
mjp6577 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2012 I was looking into getting a pair of G75s but decided to wait for the G75 Lite based on feedback that the boots were similar. But when I look at the Graf website, these now seem to have different fit profiles (deep instep for G75, medium instep for G75 Lite). Based on this it seems that the boots are in fact different - can anyone shed light on this?
