flyers10 57 Report post Posted July 2, 2012 Too many guys refuse to change when their team has control of the puck or when it goes into the offensive end. It's like they think they're going to lose out on a goal if they change on a dump in.#1 problem contributing to the 2 plus minutes shifts. 10% of the time they do score but 30% of the time they give one up because they're too tired to get back on D. nkrajewski12 2 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 Well the inevitable finally happened tonight, we got mercy ruled at 10 to 0. It was by far the best team we played yet and with our goalie going in rusty from missing the weeks team practice, it was rough. As a whole the team morale is pretty good though, everyone realized we had some nice plays, our puck movement and control was good. We probably had double the shots on goal they had, their goalie just seemed to always be in the right place at the right time. Everyone blocked at least a shot or 2 and we even had some nice diving plays including one by myself that stopped the other team dead in their tracks. Im not happy with the result but i cant fault our team as everyone came out to play and thats all we can ask of each other.
nkrajewski12 2 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Hey guys just to give you a quick update, we played the leagues best team tonight and while we lost we played much better than we all thought. Surprisingly we didnt get shutout by them which we were expecting since they shut out a couple of the teams we've played before, so it was nice to see we are clearly improving. Sadly one of our best defensemen went to block a slapshot and took a puck right above the eye. After he was rushed to the ER the rest of our team skated our last few shifts with his initials taped on our helmet which the refs felt was a nice gesture on our part. That's incredibly scary. I can't believe anyone plays without a cage/shield in rec hockey, but it is their decision. Best wishes for him. Nice little gesture for him too. It would be cool for you to find actual helmet stickers and keep them on until he gets back.
