Bauer one80 vs Nexus 600 stick

Recommended Posts

I have a one80. I didn't care for the grip on the shaft. It also had a small grip tack sort of pad on the blade that was whatever. I ended up grabbing a one60 after that lost its flex and I was much happier. I wouldnt say I hated the one80 just wouldnt buy again because it only come with grip. I am looking into getting the nexus 600 when I have some extra cash.

The Nexus 600 is heavier than the Bauer Vapor X4.0 and One60 (definitely One80 then). Overall I felt that the Nexus was also the most blade heavy out of the three.

iirc, aside from the different flex profiles the blade on the nexus 600 uses 3k carbon construction, which i believe is used on something like the 11k, which should keep the blade stiffer therefore more closed for accuracy.

they all have aero foam in the inside of the blades so they all pretty much play the same.

They should be fairly similar in feel, If you are looking for a stick in that price range I would suggest the Reebok Ai:5. By far my favorite stick in the 100 dollar(CDN) price point. Surprisingly good puck feel, I have used one over my total one for shinny I like it that much. (I am not the greatest of hockey players however)

i love my one80 so much. puck feel is excellent which is whats most important to me. i didnt check the nexus600 for too long at the store but all i remember was it felt super heavy compared to the one80 (was in a rush and had to buy a new stick).

i've broke 2 other sticks in the last 3 months, s65 and a dolomite, and i can honestly say if i broke my one80, i would buy another one80 (unless some ridic price drops lol)

and i love the griptac on the one80, sorry strosedefence34 :)

I have the non-grip 600, and i happen to love it, but i'm coming from the vapor x2.0 and the warrior esquire. for me, it seems more natural, but to each their own. i think that its a great value for what you get in terms of features though.

Most $100 sticks in the past 3 yrs or so have been tremendous. It's an excellent pricepoint to be at.

as a newer player, im quite happy with my purchase. its light enough compared to my other sticks that i dont mind, and its holding up quite well, very few noticeable nicks, even after a couple games centering. my other sticks (low end warrior and bauer) are chipped and nicked all to hell after one or two games.
