Helmet Cage Screw Holders Loose

Recommended Posts

I have a Bauer 4500 about a year old, and noticed that the two screws holding the cage are tight, but the metal holders for the screws are loose, causing the cage to move around slightly. I don't think it will come out, but there is movement.

Is there a fix for this, is it ok as is for safety, or time to replace the helmet? Didn't find much in search.

Id say get a hammer drill and some sheet metal rivits and be done with it. Just dont so it when it is on your head as you dont want the rivits to purtrude into your forhead ha ha lol

But seriously all kidding aside. I never wore a faceshield growing up in the day or a cage so when I play beer leagues which is rarely ever, I just use tie wraps and call it a day. Then when it is back to pick ups I just take them off. Tie wraps are the best. My car is held together with them. Youd be amazed how many things dont need nuts and bolts ha ha lol Best of luck
