My son is a good skater/player and we just had them put on a compatible skate and he hasn't been able to skate since. He says he doesn't have an edge. ktang 34 Report post Posted October 13, 2012 They've been good for me.Did you get new ones put on? Have you had them checked for straightness? and what hollow is being put on the blades? If those things are good, then check the profile.After you get them sharpened, if you scrape the back of your thumbnail on the edges (pulling your hand towards you), can you shave of a layer of your thumbnail? Davetronz 109 Report post Posted October 13, 2012 I haven't noticed any issues with them, nor have I heard any complaints.I second that maybe the new blade profile is what your son is having issues getting used to... danc 4 Report post Posted October 13, 2012 My son had them on his new skates which I didn't get profiled when we bought them. His skating was OK but just not what it was in his old skates. When I took them in for a profile they had about a 6" flat spot on each blade. LHS sharpening dude said all skates should be profiled when purchased.
