TotalOne OPS vs Two Piece stick

Recommended Posts

This may seem like a silly topic, but I just wanted to get some feedback. I was wondering if there would be a huge difference between the TotalONE OPS and the two piece version. I've always used two piece sticks in the past and have had no complaints. I've tried out a few of my buddies one piece's and never really noticed that great of a difference, granted they were usually mid level sticks. The other issue is that I've always used tapered shaft two piece sticks and noticed that the TotalONE two piece is a standard shaft. Will that make a huge difference???

I play 2 - 3 times a week in men's leagues. I play D and O depending on the team I'm playing for. I consider myself a better than average player, but it's not like I'm lighting the lamp and dangling all over the ice. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, there is a pretty big difference between the standard shaft and the OPS. If you prefer tapered two piece combos, you might want to check out Pure Hockey. They are the only ones with tapered Total One shafts to the best of my knowledge.

Personally, I like the feel of the OPS much better. I just can't stand spending over $200 for a stick that become worthless after you break the shaft or blade. I've gone back to 2 piece sticks because at least if you snap the shaft you still have a perfectly good blade and vice versa. I have 2 of the tapered T1 shafts from Pure Hockey and absolutely love them. Not the same feel as the OPS, but a very good alternative.

I had the 2 piece version of the one95 a couple years ago, and it played pretty well. Very lightweight and solid feel. I'm assuming the Total One is similar. The one piece version feels a little better (balance, puck feel), but the 2 piece was a better value for me. The biggest issue I had was the flex, as cutting down my 102 flex shaft put it around 115-120 which was too stiff for me. I use 100 flex shafts from other companies, but pairing the long One95 shaft with the standard blade had made it very stiff as I had to cut it a bit more.
